Green Drinks

Did you know the City of Key West is working on a Bicycle Master Plan this year? Want to learn more about how you can be a successful bicycle advocate?

Key West Green Drinks is a monthly gathering where locals and visitors can learn more about the green goings on in our community. We meet on the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 5:30pm in the upstairs Muse Bar at Kelly’s Caribbean Grill & Brewery at 301 Whitehead St.

Working with the City of Key West's Preserve Island Life program, each month we will be covering a different green subject. This month is Transportation Month where we will be learning more about Bike Advocacy and Bicycle Master Plans. Also, please share updates for other sustainability efforts in our area.

Our speaker, Anthony Garcia is chairperson of South Florida’s Green Mobility Network, and is heavily involved with the Bicycle Master Plans in City of Miami, Coral Gables and Miami Beach. He is the principal of The Street Plans Collaborative, specializing in urban design, smart growth, and active transport planning. Tony received his B.A. in urban planning and architecture studies from New York University and his Masters from the University of Miami School of Architecture. He is vice-president of the Urban Environment League and a member of the Dade Heritage Trust and of the Congress for the New Urbanism.
